When you’re planning a family vacation with teenagers, finding a resort that keeps everyone happy isn’t always easy. Parents want comfort and relaxation, while teens want excitement, good food, a great pool, and easy access to activities.

After spending several days at Margaritaville Beach Resort in Fort Myers Beach, we can honestly say this was one of our favorite family vacations. It offered the perfect balance of relaxation, fun, and convenience—without anyone saying, “I’m bored.”

First Impressions

From the moment we arrived, the resort felt like vacation.

The tropical décor, upbeat music, friendly staff, and incredible beachfront location immediately set the tone. Everything feels fresh, modern, and bright, making it easy to slip into vacation mode within minutes.

The resort sits directly on Fort Myers Beach, making it easy to walk from your room to the sand in just a few minutes. It’s also within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and the rebuilt downtown area, so you rarely need your car once you’ve checked in.

The Rooms

We stayed in a room with two queen beds, which was comfortable for our family.

The beds were incredibly comfortable after long days in the sun, and the room had plenty of charging outlets—a huge plus when traveling with teenagers carrying multiple devices.

The bathrooms were spacious, everything was spotless, and we appreciated the coastal-inspired décor that made the room feel upscale without being overdone.

The Pool Is the Star of the Resort

If your teens love hanging out by the pool, they’ll be in heaven.

The Fins Up! Beach Club quickly became one of our favorite places to spend the afternoon. The lagoon-style pool is large enough that it never felt overcrowded, even during busy times. There was live music, poolside games, great food service, and plenty of lounge chairs.

For parents, it was the perfect place to relax while still keeping an eye on everyone.

For teens, the music, lively atmosphere, and easy access to drinks and snacks made it feel like a destination all on its own. Resort guests receive access to the beach club with qualifying stays.

Beach Days Made Easy

One of our favorite parts of the trip was simply walking across to the beach.

The white sand is beautiful, the sunsets are unforgettable, and there was plenty of space to spread out.

Our teens loved alternating between swimming in the Gulf and hanging out at the resort pool throughout the day.

Watching the sunset each evening quickly became part of our daily routine.

Food Everyone Enjoyed

Traveling with teenagers usually means someone is hungry every hour.

Thankfully, there were plenty of dining options both inside the resort and within walking distance.

Whether we wanted a casual lunch by the pool, frozen drinks, seafood, burgers, pizza, or ice cream, we never had to go far.

Being able to walk everywhere made evenings especially enjoyable.

Perfect Home Base for Exploring

Although the resort has plenty to keep everyone entertained, it’s also an excellent base for exploring Southwest Florida.

During our stay we enjoyed:

  • Jetski Tours
  • Shell collecting
  • Shopping nearby
  • Exploring Times Square
  • Visiting local restaurants
  • Watching spectacular sunsets every evening

Things to Know Before You Go

Like most beachfront resorts, expect resort fees and parking charges.

Food and drinks are priced similarly to other upscale beach resorts, so budgeting for meals ahead of time is a good idea.

During peak season, the pool can become lively with music and entertainment, which we actually enjoyed because it added to the vacation atmosphere.

Would We Stay Again?

Absolutely.

As parents of teenagers, this resort checked nearly every box.

✔️ Fantastic pool

✔️ Comfortable rooms

✔️ Activities that kept everyone entertained

Sometimes it’s difficult to find a destination that both parents and teenagers genuinely enjoy, but Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach managed to do exactly that.

If you’re looking for a fun, relaxing Florida beach vacation where you can spend quality time together while still giving teens enough independence to enjoy themselves, this resort is definitely worth adding to your travel list.
