Where to Eat in Fort Myers Beach: Our Favorite Walkable Restaurants Near Margaritaville Beach Resort
One of the best parts of staying at Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach wasn’t just the beautiful beach or incredible pool—it was how easy it was to walk to some fantastic local restaurants.

We never had to worry about finding parking or calling an Uber. After spending the day relaxing by the pool or enjoying the beach, we simply strolled into town for dinner. Traveling with teenagers made that convenience even better. Everyone could browse the menus, pick a favorite, and enjoy exploring the lively downtown area after sunset.
If you’re planning a stay at Margaritaville, here are four restaurants we tried—and would happily visit again.

Nervous Nellie’s
Our first stop was Nervous Nellie’s, one of the most recognizable waterfront restaurants on Fort Myers Beach.
The atmosphere is lively, energetic, and exactly what you’d expect from a classic Florida beach destination. With colorful décor, waterfront views, live entertainment, and an extensive menu, it’s a great choice for families with a variety of tastes.
There was something for everyone—from fresh seafood and burgers to sandwiches and tropical drinks. Portions were generous, service was friendly, and it was a fun place to kick off our vacation.
If you’re looking for a casual meal with plenty of Florida charm, this is a great first-night dinner.

Smokin’ Oyster Brewery (The SOB)
Next up was the iconic Smokin’ Oyster Brewery, affectionately known by locals as “The SOB.”
Don’t let the name fool you—this isn’t just a brewery. It’s one of those laid-back beach restaurants where flip-flops are welcome, live music fills the air, and everyone seems to be having a good time.

The seafood was fresh, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it quickly became one of our favorite stops. If you enjoy oysters, shrimp, fish tacos, or simply soaking up authentic beach-town vibes, this restaurant deserves a spot on your itinerary.
It felt less like a tourist stop and more like the kind of place locals would recommend.

Yucatan Beach Stand Bar & Grill
One evening we headed over to Yucatan Beach Stand Bar & Grill, and it was exactly what we were looking for after a day in the sun.
Outdoor seating, island-inspired music, tropical drinks, and a fun beach atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind. The menu offered a little bit of everything, from seafood and burgers to tacos and refreshing cocktails.

The relaxed vibe made it easy to linger a little longer, enjoy the warm Florida evening, and people-watch as visitors wandered through downtown.
If you’re looking for a true vacation atmosphere, this restaurant definitely delivers.

Wahoo Willie’s
One of the newer additions to the Fort Myers Beach dining scene is Wahoo Willie’s, and we’re so glad we stopped in.
The restaurant has a bright, modern coastal feel while still embracing the laid-back beach vibe that makes Fort Myers Beach so special.
We enjoyed delicious food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s the perfect place for families, couples, or anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing meal after a day at the beach.
With its convenient location just a short walk from Margaritaville, it’s an easy addition to your dining plans.

Why We Loved Staying Walkable
One thing we didn’t fully appreciate until our trip was just how much we enjoyed leaving the car parked.
Every evening became part dinner, part adventure.
We wandered through downtown, listened to live music drifting from nearby restaurants, stopped into local shops, grabbed ice cream after dinner, and watched beautiful sunsets along the beach.
Traveling with teenagers can sometimes mean everyone wants to do something different, but Fort Myers Beach made it easy. Everything was close enough that everyone could enjoy the evening without worrying about transportation.
