My Honest Review of the Caribe Hilton in Puerto Rico
If you’re looking for a luxurious getaway in Puerto Rico, the Caribe Hilton should definitely be on your radar. Located in the heart of San Juan, this iconic hotel offers an incredible mix of history, comfort, and modern amenities. I recently had the chance to stay there, and I’m here to share my honest experience, broken down into several key sections.

Location and Accessibility
The Caribe Hilton enjoys an unbeatable location. Nestled on a private peninsula, it offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Condado Lagoon. It’s about a 15-minute drive from the San Juan International Airport, making it extremely convenient for those looking to get from the airport to their accommodation quickly. What’s more, it’s just a short drive to Old San Juan, where you can explore historic sites, museums, and colorful streets. If you love walking, the hotel’s surrounding area is perfect for a leisurely stroll, with shopping, restaurants, and local attractions within walking distance.

Accommodation
The rooms at the Caribe Hilton are spacious, comfortable, and modern, blending contemporary decor with tropical touches. During my stay, I booked an ocean-view room, which offered stunning views of the beach and lagoon. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a large flat-screen TV, a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, and a safe.

The bathroom was spacious, but in need of an upgrade- it had a step in tub and was definitely in need of an update. The sunset views from our small balcony were spectacular.

Dining and Cuisine
The dining options at the Caribe Hilton were a highlight of my stay. The hotel boasts several restaurants and bars, each offering a different experience. I particularly enjoyed the local flavor at Perla, an upscale seafood restaurant situated right by the beach, offering fresh seafood dishes and incredible ocean views.

Another fantastic option was The Patio Bar, where I grabbed drinks and enjoyed tapas while watching the sunset. The food was always delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. If you’re a fan of tropical cocktails, you’re in for a treat. The hotel also offers a great breakfast buffet that caters to all tastes, from fresh fruits to pastries and local specialties.
Facilities and Activitie
The Caribe Hilton has an impressive range of facilities that cater to all types of travelers. The property features a large outdoor pool, which is perfect for a relaxing afternoon swim. For those looking to stay active, there’s a well-equipped fitness center, a tennis court, and even water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding available.

One of the standout features for me was the hotel’s private beach area. It wasn’t overly crowded, which allowed for a relaxing day by the water without feeling too packed. If you’re looking for something more indulgent, the Spa Botanico offers a luxurious range of treatments, including massages, facials, and body scrubs, perfect for unwinding after a long day.

Service and Staff
The staff at the Caribe Hilton were professional, courteous, and always ready to help. From check-in to check-out, I felt welcomed and well-cared for. The concierge was very helpful, offering excellent recommendations for local activities and restaurants in San Juan. We went on an excursion on quads in the rainforest, you can read more about that here. Room service was prompt, and the hotel’s cleaning staff did an excellent job of maintaining cleanliness throughout my stay.

Value for Money
As a high-end resort, the Caribe Hilton doesn’t come cheap, but I do feel that it offers great value for money considering the facilities, the location, and the quality of service. The rates can vary depending on the time of year, but the experience overall made it worth the price. Additionally, the resort’s proximity to local attractions and its private beach made it a convenient and relaxing option for a vacation. The only thing that might deter some budget-conscious travelers would be the additional resort fees, which seemed a bit high.

All in all, my stay at the Caribe Hilton was a memorable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Puerto Rico. Whether you’re looking to relax on the beach, explore San Juan, or indulge in some fine dining, this hotel has something for everyone. I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit to Puerto Rico.
